SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical microbiology. Method of differentiating strains of Yersinia pestis into toxically active and inactive strains involves the cultivation of cells of the vaccine strain of Yersinia pestis on a dense nutrient medium followed by the preparation of a suspension of bacteria, its incubation, the cells precipitation by centrifugation and infection of animals. Herewith the suspension of bacteria with the concentration of 1 × 1010 mc/ml is prepared on a physiological solution of NaCl, which is incubated for 3 hours at 37 °C followed by boiling for 30 minutes and centrifugation to obtain a supernatant. Resulting supernatant is separated from the cells and combined in equal volumes by 0.1 ml of the supernatant with an aqueous solution of D-GalN and the resulting mixture is administered intraperitoneally to white mice in such a way, that the final concentration of D-GalN is 15 mg per mouse, followed by registering the results for the first 48 hours. Wherein, if the animals die, the tested strain is differentiated as toxically active toxigenic and, accordingly, in the absence of dead animals, a conclusion is made about the inactivity of the strain.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the accuracy of identifying strains of Yersinia pestis.
