SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of plastic products, paints, coatings. Pigment characterized by the chemical formula n B2O3 * m BiOX * o BixXyOz * p BiaSibOc, where X is halogen, x=2–30, y=1–15, when y=1, z>1, z=1–35, a=0–15, b=1–5, c=1–25, n=0–5, m=0–5, o=1–5, p=1–5. To obtain said pigment, a bismuth compound selected from the group Bi2O3, BiOCl, BiONO3, Bi(NO3)3, Bi2O2CO3, BiOOH, BiOF, BiOBr, BiOC3H5O7, Bi(C7H5O2)3, BiPO4, Bi2(SO4)3, BiaMbOc (where M=Zn, Ti, Fe, Cu, Al, Zr, P, Sn, Sr, Si, Y, Nb, La, Ta, Pr, Ca, Mg, Mo, W, Sb, Cr, Ba, Ce and a=0.3–70, b=0.05–8 and c=1–100), is coated with SiO2 in the presence of a chlorine compound. Then calcination is carried out at 300–815 °C.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain a universal additive in polymers absorbing laser radiation and not causing degradation reactions in the polymer matrix when laser marking is applied to plastic products.
