SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine. Powered ophthalmic device comprises: a lens having an optic zone and a peripheral zone surrounding the optic zone; insert positioned within the lens and occupying at least a portion of the optic zone. Insert comprises: optic zone of the insert; one or more interconnection structures mounted to the optic zone of the insert; and one or more flexible flaps connected to the one or more interconnection structures by means of one or more flexible electrical connections attached to one of the one or more interconnection structures, wherein one or more flexible flaps is configured as mounting and support structures for one or more electronic components. Lens further comprises a skirt zone surrounding the peripheral zone and one or more stabilizing features disposed in at least one of the peripheral zone and skirt zones, wherein the stabilizing feature is formed by additional mass or volume distributed from the peripheral zone to the skirt zone of the lens with a heavier concentration of mass or volume in the skirt zone of the ophthalmic device.
EFFECT: use of this invention will reduce the rigidity of the powered ophthalmic device.
