FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gravity casting of small and medium hollow castings. Method of gravity casting of hollow mold castings includes the manufacturing of a mold, casting the melt into the mold, crystallizing of the required wall thickness of the casting, removal of residual liquid metal from the mold cavity and removal of the solidifying casting from the mold. In this case, the metal is poured through the gate system, in which the pockets are made, the residual liquid metal is removed into the mentioned pockets under the pressure of the gas, which is supplied to the mold cavity, and after the extraction of the casting, the gate system is cut off.
EFFECT: reduction of metal consumption due to the absence of sprues, reduction of the product manufacturing labor intensity.
