FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for the preparation of polyurethane. Process comprises, in step (A), reacting a polyester polyol with a first aliphatic polyisocyanate, the amount of which ranges from 0.5 to 12 mol% from the total amount of polyisocyanate, in order to obtain a prepolymer, and in step (B), reacting the prepolymer obtained in step (A) with a second polyisocyanate and, optionally, with other additives to obtain polyurethane. Prepolymer obtained in step (A) contains more than 70% of the terminal hydroxyl groups.

EFFECT: said method makes it possible to produce a polyurethane that does not have a yellowish or brownish colour, while maintaining mechanical performance at a high level.
