FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to process of obtaining substituted and unsubstituted 7,8-dodecahydrodicarbo-nido-undecaborates of alkali metals (Na, K, Rb, Cs). Process involves reaction of substituted or unsubstituted o-carboranes with alkali metal carbonates or bicarbonates (Na, K, Rb, Cs) in atmosphere of lower aliphatic alcohols at temperature of 60 to 90 °C followed by isolation of final product. Process is carried out by ultrasonic activation.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to simplify synthesis of unsubstituted and substituted 7,8-dodecahydrodicarbo-nido-undecaborates of alkali metals (Na, K, Rb, Cs) due to the following factors: synthesis is carried out in one stage, in air (without use of inert atmosphere), does not require absolute elimination of solvents, duration of process due to ultrasonic activation is significantly reduced.
