SUBSTANCE: tape cartridge detachably mounted in a tape printer having a cartridge mounting portion on which a tape cartridge is mounted, part that is a tape feed mechanism that provides feeding of a printing ribbon from an installed tape cartridge, part that is a tape feed mechanism that provides the supply of the ink ribbon in synchronism with the feeding of the printing ribbon, part with a print head that performs printing on the printing tape and is configured to allow it to move between the printing position and the retracted position, head cover provided on the cartridge mounting portion, and convex portion that projects from the outer surface of the head cover and directs the installation of the tape cartridge, tape cartridge includes: tape for printing; painting ribbon; support roller that receives energy from a portion that is a feed mechanism of the tape and faces the print head portion the way the printing tape and the ink ribbon are disposed between the support roller and the print head in the printing position; cartridge body in which the printing tape is placed, the ink ribbon and the supporting roller; insertion hole that is formed in the cartridge body and into which a head cover is inserted when the tape cartridge is mounted on the cartridge mounting portions; and opposing part that is formed on a portion of the insertion hole constituting the peripheral wall of the opening and into which a convex portion is inserted to limit the displacement of the tape cartridge in the cartridge mounting portion.
