SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the electrical equipment. In the method, the result is provided by the fact that the unified power flow controller for a double-circuit transmission line includes at least one parallel connection transformer (1), three current converters (4), at least two series-connection transformers (8), parallel connection side switching circuit (3), series-connection side switching circuit (6) and common DC bus (5). At least one side of the series-connection transformers is in parallel connected to at least one set of bypass switches (9, 10). Further, the alternating current sides of the three current converters are serially connected to each loop line after being connected to at least one series-connection transformer via series-connection side switching circuit (6). And the alternating current sides of the three current converters are connected to the alternating current system after coupling with at least one parallel connection transformer (1) by means of parallel connection side switching circuit starting circuit (2). Said DC sides of the three current converters are connected to common DC bus (5) via a transfer switch. With the help of a device for unified power flow controller, it is possible to realize operating various modes, and if one current converter is in a faulty state, it is possible to adjust the power flow of the double-circuit transmission line.

EFFECT: increased reliability, flexibility and economy of the device for unified power flow control.
