FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for leveling the anode bottom of an aluminum cell. Method includes supplying alumina under the anode at a pressure of 1–2 atm, the first supply of alumina being carried out 2–4 hours after the installation of the new anode in the cell, further alumina feeds are carried out during the next 16–18 hours with a periodicity of 6–8 hours, after which the supply of alumina under the anode to its full wear is carried out with a periodicity once for 1–2 days.
EFFECT: removal from the anode bottom of crusts of frozen electrolyte and particles of coal dust, prevention of formation of cones on the soles of the anode is ensured.
