FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: anode block contains grooves and vertical gas-discharging tubes on the lower working surface. The height of the grooves is equal to 0.15-0.2 of the anode block height, the height of the vertical gas discharge tubes is 0.9-1.0 of the anode block height, the tubes are installed with a pitch equal to 0.1-0.2 of the anode block length with longitudinal placement of the grooves, or with a step equal to 0.15-0.3 of the anode block width with transverse placement of the grooves. The lower ends of the gas-discharging tubes are aligned with the upper side of the grooves.

EFFECT: reducing the specific consumption of electrical energy and increasing the energy efficiency of the electrolysis production by reducing the volume of the gas-electrolyte layer and reducing the voltage losses to overcome its resistance throughout the life of the anode.
