FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for protecting threaded ends of pipe components, in particular pipe components, for drilling or developing hydrocarbon wells, and the like. Tubular component comprises at least one threaded portion for connecting the component with a complementary component, and at least a portion of the threaded portion is coated with a strippable film which protects against corrosion and is made from an aqueous dispersion of a film-forming polymer selected from polyacrylic resins, acrylic copolymers or polycondensate type aliphatic polyurethanes. Film is preferably manually strippable. It can be applied on a lubricating layer, which is already deposited on the surface of the threaded portion.
EFFECT: strippable film can be used to improve the retention of mechanical properties of the threaded portion during its storage period.
