FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of inorganic, highly disperse fillers, namely hollow microspheres used in production of composite materials for various purposes. In method for producing hollow microspheres from swelled up powder material, which includes preparing burden charge made from basic material by its disintegrating, separation of a set fraction of burden charge, charging it through feed track into the working zone of a vertical furnace, thermal forming of microspheres by swelling up of burden charge during flight through the working zone of furnace, cooling and collection of obtained microspheres,swelling up of burden charge is carried out at a heating temperature in the interval of 400 to 1,800 °C in flow of assist gas at a gas flow rate of 0.01–2.00 m/s and maintaining a constant set pressure in working zone of furnace, which is selected from an interval of 0.01 to 0.10 MPa.

EFFECT: obtaining of microspheres from any swelled up powder material with simultaneous increase in stability of characteristics of obtained microspheres, simplifying of method for their production.
