SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to agricultural engineering and can be used for strapping bales of agricultural material. Knotter for an agricultural baler includes at least one knotting hook rotatable about an axis, said hook comprising knotter body and an upper knotter jaw for clamping knotting twine, said jaw being movable relative to the knotter body. Knotter is equipped with a sensor to track the position of the upper knotter jaw, which is movable against the action of a spring. Sensor is a force sensor, on which the return force of the spring acts.

EFFECT: group of inventions reduces the risk of damage to the twine and the knotter.
