FIELD: images forming devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the imaging system performance characteristics monitoring. Method comprises: receiving the imaging system performance characteristics set; from the performance characteristics set identifying the performance characteristic, which periodically falls outside the predefined operating range and does not require the imaging system immediate maintenance; generating trend for the identified performance characteristic; comparing the generated trend with at least one reference trend; based on this comparison determining that the imaging system should be serviced; and generating the service notification signal in response to determination that the imaging system should be serviced, at that, the service notification signal causes the imaging system maintenance.
EFFECT: increase in the imaging system performance characteristics monitoring accuracy.
