FIELD: optical fibers.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optical fibers in particular to devices for stripping a layer of outer protective sleeve of optical fibers with a protective sleeve and is designed to provide reliable stripping through a field instrument, for which no power supply is required. In the method, the device for removing the protective sleeve from the optical fiber comprises an all-molded body comprising a first housing part, connected to the second housing part by means of an elastic portion, and a blade fixed in one of the first housing part and the second housing part, wherein the blade comprises a U-shaped slot with cutting edges, arranged therein, wherein the elastic part allowing the first and second housing parts to move between the open state and the closed state for stripping an optical fiber.
EFFECT: ensure reliable stripping using a field instrument.
