OPTICAL CONNECTOR WITH SPLICE ELEMENT TO TERMINATE CABLE WITH PROTECTIVE SHELL IN PLACE OF OPERATION Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC G02B6/38

Abstract RU 2577388 C2

FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for installation of optic cables. An optical connector of LC type for termination of optic fibre, comprising a body, consisting of a jacket of LC type and a front end made as capable of coupling with a mating receiver part of the LC connection, besides, the body comprises an elastic latch placed on the surface of the jacket and made as capable of jointing with the mating receiver part of the LC connection; a bearing element made as capable of engagement with the outer surface of the jacket in its first part and containing a mounting structure placed in its second part; a tail made as capable of engagement with the mounting structure of the bearing element, at the same time the tail has a longitudinal cut arranged along some of its length, providing for the possibility for the joined optic fibre to bend outside without limitation by the tail during engagement with the mating receiver part of the LC connection; a coupling element placed in the body and fixed between the jacket and the bearing element, at the same time the coupling element comprises a section of fibre placed in the first part of the coupling element, besides, the fibre section is installed in a ferrule, and has the first end near the back end of the ferrule, and the second end; and a mechanical splice placed in the second part of the coupling element, besides, the mechanical splice is made as capable of coupling the second end of the fibre section with the optic fibre, at the same time the bearing element also comprises an element of fibre protective shell clamping to clamp a part of the protective shell, surrounding the part of the optic fibre after activation, and at the same time the tail activates the element of clamping of the bearing element fibre protective shell after connected to the bearing element.

EFFECT: making it possible to use a connector under mounting conditions, which require simplicity of use in operation with multiple connections.
