FIELD: production of mineral salts.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of mineral salts, in particular, to a method for producing potassium formate. The proposed method involves the interaction in an aqueous solution of a reagent with a formate ion with a potassium salt of carbonic acid to form potassium formate, while sodium formate is used as a reagent with a formate ion, and a mixture of bicarbonate (CNCO₃) and potassium carbonate (K₂CO₃) is used as a potassium salt of carbonic acid, and the water content in the aqueous solution varies from 40 to 25 wt.%.

EFFECT: present invention enables not only to simplify the process, but increase the yield of the target product by using more concentrated starting solutions and provides the possibility of using feedstock salts, both in crystalline and dissolved form.
