FIELD: technological processes; oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processes for preparing light petroleum polymer resins by hydrogenation at elevated temperature under hydrogen pressure in the presence of catalyst and can be used to produce components of adhesives and hot melt adhesives, as well as in food and printing industries. Process for preparation of hydrogenation catalyst for petroleum resin resins includes preparation of precursors of nickel 2-ethylhexanoate and molybdenum or tungsten hexacarbonyl, their dissolution in hydrocarbon solvent to concentration of 0.06 to 10 % based on molybdenum or tungsten on solution weight, introduction into precursor solution of sulphiding agent elemental sulfur at ratio S:(Mo or W) from 1:1 to 10:1 and preparation from ex situ solution of unalloyed sulfide nanosized catalyst. Its preparation is carried out in autoclave at temperature of 350 to 400 °C and hydrogen pressure from 20 to 60 atm. Solvent may be benzene, or toluene, or n-heptane, or limonene, or mixture thereof. Hydrogenation of petroleum polymer resins in solvent in the presence of this catalyst is conducted at temperature of from 280 to 320 °C and pressure of 10 to 70 atmospheres, preferably 20 to 50 atmospheres. Petroleum-polymer resins are pre-dissolved in said solvent containing suspension of inventive catalyst to concentration of 5 to 80 % by weight, preferably from 10 to 40 % by weight. Catalyst is preferably recycled without regeneration.
EFFECT: increasing degree of hydrogenation of aromatic and olefinic fragments of petroleum resin, significant improvement in petroleum resin color, possibility of carrying out process without regenerating catalyst.
