FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a dispersed catalyst for upgrading heavy oil stock, which is nanoparticles based on molybdenum-containing phases formed "in situ" when upgrading heavy oil stock in the presence of water, according to the invention, the catalyst additionally contains nanoparticles of a Fe, Co or Ni based catalyst and has a MoS2/MoO2 + MexOy and/or MemSn composition, with MoS2 3–78 wt% phase content, the balance is MoO2, nanoparticles of cocatalyst have composition MexOy and/or MemSn, where Me = Fe, Co, Ni, and x, y, m and n can vary and depend on metal oxidation degree and catalyst formation conditions, wherein particle size based on molybdenum-containing phases is 6–380 nm and size of particles based on Fe, Co or Ni is 2–366 nm. Also disclosed are versions of the method of preparing said dispersed catalyst for upgrading heavy oil feedstock in the presence of water formed "in situ" under conditions of refining process.
EFFECT: obtaining a bifunctional catalyst for upgrading heavy oil stock, having high activity, selectivity as to output of light fractions and conversion of high-boiling fractions of heavy oil stock.
