METHOD FOR PRODUCING CATALYST AND METHOD FOR HYDROGENATING OIL-POLYMERIC RESINS AT ITS PRESENCE Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC B01J37/20 B01J23/883 C07C5/10 C09J157/02

Abstract RU 2675361 C1

FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processes for preparing light petroleum polymer resins by hydrogenation at elevated temperature under hydrogen pressure in the presence of catalyst and can be used to obtain components of adhesives and hot melt adhesives, colored asphalt concrete, as well as in the food and printing industry. According to the method for producing a catalyst for the hydrogenation of petroleum resins, the catalyst precursor – nickel nitrate hexahydrate and ammonium paramolybdate tetrahydrate – is dissolved in water. And an aqueous solution of a catalyst precursor with a Mo/Ni 1/0.25–1/2 molar ratio is introduced into decalin, in which the emulsifier is previously introduced – petroleum or indene coumarone resin in an amount of from 1 to 6 % by weight. As a result, the emulsion of an aqueous solution of the catalyst precursor is obtained with a water content of not more than 2 % wt. Then, a sulfiding agent, elemental sulfur, is added to the emulsion to the molar ratio S/Mo in the catalyst 2/1–4/1, the catalyst is synthesized, and decalin is removed to isolate the obtained catalyst. According to the method for hydrogenation of a petroleum resin, the petroleum resin is first dissolved in cyclohexane, or benzene, or a mixture of them to a concentration of from 20 to 40 % wt. Then, the resulting catalyst is introduced in it with its content from 1 to 3 % wt. in the calculation of molybdenum from petroleum resin and lead the hydrogenation of the latter at elevated temperature and hydrogen pressure during operation of the catalyst in the absence of its regeneration for at least three cycles.

EFFECT: increasing the degree of hydrogenation of aromatic and olefinic fragments at a low cost of catalyst precursors, increasing the stability of the catalyst while maintaining its activity without regeneration, and improving the color of the petroleum resin.
