FIELD: control systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to monitoring the condition of circuit breaker (2). Essence: the device contains injection unit (51) for injecting a transient test signal to the first contact of the circuit breaker, detection unit (52) for detecting the resulting transient signal at the second contact of the circuit breaker, first coupling means (53) for coupling the transient test signal provided by the injection unit to first contact (21) and second coupling means (54) for coupling the detection unit to second contact (22) in order to receive the resulting test signal. At least one of the first and second coupling means provides galvanic separation from first and second contacts (21, 22). Wherein coupling means (53) are connected between first contact (21) and ground, and second coupling means (54) are connected between second contact (22) and ground.
EFFECT: ensuring real-time monitoring of the ablation level of the contact areas of the arcing contacts.
