SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electronic smoking article that comprises a power supply, operable to apply voltage to a heater for heating a liquid, a biometric panel feature configured to prevent unauthorised use of the smoking article and which disables the power supply, which applies voltage to the heater until the biometric panel is unlocked by an adult user, wherein the biometric panel is configured to be unlocked when a biometric parameter in the form of the voice of an adult user is recognised.
EFFECT: preventing unauthorised use of the electronic smoking article.
