SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electronic smoking article that comprises a first section, including a longitudinally extending outer tube, a container for storing liquid material, a wick communicating with the container, and a heater for heating the liquid material, wherein the first section is connected to the second section by means of a breakable joint, which includes a connecting piece extending longitudinally and having a weakened portion at one of the points along the length of the breakable joint, the connecting piece being configured to break in the weakened portion when the electronic smoking article is bent with a force exceeding the threshold breaking force.

EFFECT: preventing the rupture of the cartridge case or casing to prevent the liquid from escaping outwards.
