FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the production of a chromium nitride-containing powder for thermal spraying of coatings in the form of sintered agglomerates. Method includes the following steps: a) preparing powder mixture (A) comprising powder (B), comprising at least one component selected from a group consisting of chromium (Cr), CrN and Cr2N, and powder (C), comprising at least one component selected from a group comprising nickel, cobalt, nickel alloy, cobalt alloy and iron alloy, b) sintering powder mixture (A) at a nitrogen partial pressure above 1 bar to obtain sintered agglomerates, while maintaining constant content of chemically bound nitrogen or increasing the content of chemically bound nitrogen compared to powder mixture (A).
EFFECT: obtaining a durable powder.
