SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to laboratory diagnostics, and can be used in bacteriological laboratories of clinics to determine the sensitivity of bacterial blood cultures to antibiotics. Method comprises preparing a bacterial suspension, inoculating the culture medium and incubating it. To prepare a bacterial suspension with a density of 0.5 of the McFarland turbidity standard, direct primary broth culture is used directly, a suspension prepared by suspension is inoculated with Mueller-Hinton nutrient agar, 10 minutes after inoculation, paper discs with test antibiotics are placed on the surface of the Mueller-Hinton agar and incubated at 37 °C in a dry-air thermostat until visually noticeable growth. Diameter of the growth retardation zones of microorganisms around antibiotic discs is assessed by determining the stability of the bacteriaemia agent to the antibiotic under test when a growth retardation zone is detected whose diameter is proportional to the level of activity of the antibiotic to be tested.

EFFECT: use of the invention improves the accuracy of determining the sensitivity of bacterial blood cultures to antibiotics while reducing the study time.
