FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus for preparing hot beverages, comprising: electric heater; a latent heat storage means that is in thermal contact with the heater and that contains, or is configured to contain, a phase-change material; and an electric circuit for powering the electric heater, comprising a switch assembly that is configured cut power to the heater, when temperature of the latent heat storage means fulfills a predetermined auto-power-down condition.
EFFECT: claimed invention solves the problem of creating a device for preparation of hot beverages, equipped with an auto-power-down mechanism, which is capable of synchronising time periods of the order of tens of minutes.
