SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heating a vehicle cabin. Vehicle cabin comprises an internal combustion engine, a throttle that varies a mass flow rate of air into the engine, and a cabin heating assembly that transfers heat from the internal combustion engine to the vehicle cabin. First step (110) comprises determining the need for extra vehicle cabin heating, second step (120) comprises adjusting the position of the throttle so as to reduce the mass flow rate of the air into the internal combustion engine, thereby raising the temperature of the internal combustion engine and increasing the heat transferred to the cabin through the cabin heating assembly.

EFFECT: reduced frequency of oil change.
