FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: methods and systems to accelerate the heating of the engine system by retention of the refrigerant coolant in one of the many circuits in the engine cooling system are proposed. Perfomance deterioration of the various valves and thermostats of the cooling system may be diagnosed by means of the valve adjustment and control over changing of one or more refrigerant coolant temperatures, transmission temperature, and the temperature in the cabin. Various valves can be adjusted to change the refrigerant coolant temperature in different areas of the cooling system on the grounds of the engine operating conditions.
EFFECT: invention provides fuel savings.
