FIELD: smoking accessories.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aerosol delivery devices, such as smoking articles; in particular, to aerosol delivery devices which use electrically generated heat to produce an aerosol. Aerosol delivery device comprises: control body; cartridge comprising a reservoir at least partially filled with an aerosol precursor composition, configured to receive an airflow; atomizer comprising a heating element positioned within said chamber; and a pressure controller configured to control dispensing of the aerosol precursor composition from the reservoir based on a pressure differential between a first pressure within the reservoir and a second pressure proximate the atomizer, wherein the atomizer is configured to heat the aerosol precursor composition received from the reservoir by direct contact with the heating element to produce an aerosol in the chamber, wherein the aerosol exits the chamber before being added to the air stream.

EFFECT: producing an aerosol delivery device with improved functionality and improvement in the aerosol precursor composition delivery to the atomizer.
