IMAGING PROBES AND ASSOCIATED DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS UTILISING LEVER ARM ACTUATORS Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B3/10

Abstract RU 2666585 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: ophthalmic imaging probe comprises a handle; a cannula coupled to the handle; an optical fibre positioned at least partially within the handle and the cannula, the optical fibre configured to receive an imaging light from an imaging light source, and guide the imaging light to an optical element positioned within a distal portion of the cannula; and an actuator system configured to impart motion to the optical fibre, the actuator system including a mechanical structure and an electrically energisable member configured to selectively impart motion to the mechanical structure upon the electrically energisable member being electrically energised. Ophthalmic imaging system comprises an imaging light source configured to generate imaging light; optical fibre, which is in optical communication with the imaging light source, wherein the light guide is adapted to receive the generated imaging light from the imaging light source; and a probe which is in optical communication with the light guide. Ophthalmic imaging method comprises energising an electrically energisable member positioned within a housing of an ophthalmic probe to deflect a lever arm within the housing. Deflection of the lever arm causes an optical fibre coupled to the lever arm to scan an imaging light passing through the optical fibre across an optical element positioned within a distal portion of the housing.

EFFECT: application of this group of inventions will improve the quality of the image.
