SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to gerontology and experimental medicine. To prolong the lifespan in experimental animals, an adult laboratory animal is subjected to allogeneic transplantation of crushed thymus fragments taken from pre-pubertal animals of the same species. For this, the graft fragments are placed directly on the iris of the eye, in the anterior chamber of the eye, through the incisions of the cornea of 1.5–2 mm, with maximum distance from the incision. Wherein mydriatic and anesthetic drugs are instilled in eyes of recipient animals immediately before the operation. Corneal incisions are performed at 12–14 hours on an imaginary dial on the left eye and at 10–12 hours on an imaginary dial on the right eye. Total volume of the graft is 10–20 % of the volume of the anterior chamber of the eye.

EFFECT: method prolongs the lifespan of experimental animals due to the optimal effective volume of the introduced graft and the long viability of the graft in the anterior chamber of the eye.
