FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and is intended for surgical management of cataract in patients with short anteroposterior axis of eye. One performs preliminary opthalmohypotensive therapy for 20–26 h, 10–16 h before surgery and immediately before operation. Binding drug-induced sedation patient is performed. Eye lens phacoemulsification is performed. In process of phacoemulsification viscoelastic is introduced again into anterior chamber at stage of removal of nucleus of eye lens. Used irrigation-aspiration parameters are: height of irrigation tank 30–60 cm, value of vacuum 120–240 mm Hg, aspiration rate is 22–24 cm3/min, ultrasound power is 10–80 %. For aspiration-irrigation of eye lens mass through front chamber cannula is used with diameter of no more than 25 G. Surgery is completed by implantation of intraocular lens.
EFFECT: method provides higher clinical effectiveness, reducing intraoperative injuries, reducing length of rehabilitation, reducing probability of developing of complications – falling out of iris, rupture of posterior capsule of eye lens, nucleus fragment dislocation into vitreous body, corneal edema, intraocular pressure increase, reduction of biomechanical properties of cornea.
