FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: method for purifying heavy petroleum feedstock from inorganic impurities, metal and sulfur compounds, characterized in that the extraction is carried out in a single-stage centrifugal extractor using as a extraction solution an aqueous solution of an inorganic acid or a polar organic solvent or a mixture of polar organic solvents that do not miscible with a heavy oil feedstock, wherein the ratio of the rates of pumping the phases of the petroleum feedstock and the extraction solution is selected from the range of 1:1–1:2.
EFFECT: creation of the method for extraction purification of petroleum feedstock, including heavy tars, from inorganic impurities, providing the possibility of its simultaneous purification from metal and sulfur compounds, which are catalytic nuclei in oil refining processes.
