FIELD: nuclear physics and equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the use in a nuclear reactor of dividing a sacrificial metal in a nuclear fuel in the form of molten salts containing the actinide halides, to maintain the predetermined ratio of the actinide trigalloid to the actinide tetragalide without the reduction of the actinide trigaloid to the metal actinide. Method for maintaining the oxidized state of the molten salt, which contains the actinide halides, includes providing a continuous contact of the molten salt with the sacrificial metal, where the sacrificial metal is selected to maintain the predetermined actinide trigalloid ratio to the actinide tetragalide without reducing the actinide trigaloid up to the metal actinide. Invention also provides for a tubular fuel channel, which contains sacrificial metal.
EFFECT: method for maintaining the oxidized state of the molten salt is proposed.
