Emergency call system (250, 155, 130) comprises: device (250) for triggering an emergency call; and communication device (130) having secure element (150), secure element (150) comprises: at least two operational profiles (P1, P_eCall), one of which is an emergency profile (P_eCall); means (PSM) for receiving over local communications channel (155), an event (EVT) issued by device (250) for triggering an emergency call; means (152) for activating the emergency profile (P_eCall), which enables emergency calls to be made in a communications network if the emergency profile is not already active (E22); and a means for calling an emergency number (NU) in the communications network in order to make the emergency call.
EFFECT: possibility of activating an emergency profile automatically in order to make an emergency call when a predetermined event occurs.
