FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for producing a fire-resistant liquid and can be used in the industry for the production of hydraulic and lubricating flame retardant oils. This proposed method is carried out using low-temperature heterophase esterification of phosphorus oxychloride at 20–25 °C with a slurry containing a mixture of phenol and synthetic 3,5-dimethylphenol or 4-tertbutylphenol dissolved in an excess of o-xylene, at the following molar ratio of phenol to alkylphenols of 1–4 to 4–1, respectively. Drops of phosphorus oxychloride in a solution of o-xylene are introduced into the suspension at 20–25 °C for 1 hour in an amount of 0.31–0.33 mol per 1 mol of suspension.
EFFECT: new efficient method for obtaining a valuable product with a high yield is proposed.
