FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for obtaining a base of fire-resistant hydraulic fluids based on aryl phosphates by a two-stage process. At the first stage, a solution of an equimolar mixture of tert-butylphenol and a tertiary amine is introduced dropwise to a solution of phosphorus oxychloride in an aromatic solvent at 30-40°C at a molar ratio of phosphorus oxychloride to tert-butylphenol of 1:1.2-1.97. At the second stage, a solution of an equimolar mixture of phenol and the same tertiary amine is introduced dropwise in the resulting product at 40-50°C with a molar ratio of phosphorus oxychloride to phenol 1:1.02-1.8. The resulting suspension is filtered. The filtrate is fed to vacuum distillation. The target fraction is collected, which boils in the range of 220-260°C at a residual vacuum of 1 mm Hg.
EFFECT: proposed is method for obtaining a fire-resistant hydraulic fluid base, which allows almost completely eliminating the possibility of triphenyl phosphate formation; using tertiary amines as a catalyst; obtaining the target product at a significantly lower temperature; reducing the reaction time, preventing the release of hydrogen chloride and performing the process without water washing the resulting raw material.
