FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment. Ophthalmic cannula device includes an irrigation handpiece portion comprising a first aspiration tip and an irrigation fluid outlet for irrigation; and an aspiration handpiece portion comprising a second aspiration tip for aspiration extending from a distal end of the aspiration handpiece portion. Cannula device is transformable between a coaxial mode and a bimanual mode. In the coaxial mode, the aspiration handpiece portion is coupled to the irrigation handpiece portion such that fluid is aspirated through the first aspiration tip and then the second aspiration tip in series, and irrigation fluid is provided through the irrigation fluid outlet. In the bimanual mode, the aspiration handpiece portion is separated from the irrigation handpiece portion to provide aspiration through the second aspiration tip while the irrigation handpiece portion continues to provide irrigation fluid through the irrigation fluid outlet but not aspiration through the first aspiration tip. Disclosed is a method for lens cortex removal using an ophthalmic cannula device.
EFFECT: technical result is providing a configuration change during the device operation and implementation of the method.
