FIELD: sonar.
SUBSTANCE: claimed object belongs to passive location (in particular, sonar location) and can be used, for example, when creating a monitoring system for a situation in a protected marine economic zone. Claimed method involves receiving signals by the device of one receiving position, spatial selection by the received signals, incoherent accumulation over time of the results of spatial selection, making decisions about the detection of marks from the goals based on the results of accumulation over time, formation, based on the results of detection of each mark of direction bearing lines, constructing a matrix of antenna response values distributed over the focusing ranges in the direction of the formed direction bearing lines for a set of sound velocity values, selecting from the matrix the largest value of the antenna response value, determining the focusing distance and the effective sound velocity corresponding to a given value, from the determined effective sound velocity, a refined position direction line is determined, coordinates of a noisy object are determined from the distance of the focusing and direction bearing line.
EFFECT: aim of the claimed technical solution is to ensure the determination of the coordinates detected by one receiving position.
