FIELD: hydro acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of hydro acoustics, and specifically to the passive sonars, designed for the underwater objects and surface objects detection by their noise emission. Technical result is achieved in that the decision on the target class and the distance to it is made using the measured values of signal from the target level and the target mark width, detected at the receiving sonar antenna directivity characteristics ring output.
EFFECT: increase in the noisy target classification reliability and the distance determining accuracy.
