SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems and methods for rotating a drill string in such a way as to reduce oscillations of intermittent movement. Method for performing rotation of a drill string driven by a drive system using a control system, in which the torque values of the drive system are measured by means of a torque sensor; the oscillation frequency of the discontinuous movement in the drive system is determined based on the torque values using the control system; estimated instantaneous rotation speed of the drive system by the control system based on at least the frequency of the oscillations of the discontinuous movement and the characteristic impedance of the drill string; said calculated instantaneous rotation speed is corrected based on variations in the torque values, to set the corrected calculated instantaneous rotation speed, using the control system; a signal output is provided corresponding to said corrected calculated instantaneous rotation speed, in the drive system; and the rotation of the spindle of the drive system is controlled based on the output signal.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is improved relationship between quenching of a reflected wave and drilling speed during drilling.
