SUBSTANCE: present invention provides a sound absorbing material and a method for manufacturing a sound absorbing material. More specifically, there is provided a sound absorbing material that can be manufactured by impregnating a nonwoven fabric, made of a heat-resistant fibre, with a binder. Said sound absorbing material can have excellent sound-absorbing properties, fire resistance, heat resistance and thermal insulation properties. In addition, a method for manufacturing a sound absorbing material is provided.
EFFECT: sound absorbing material can be used for parts operating at elevated temperatures of 200 °C or more, and is suitable for moulding due to the binder.
