FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method for encoding the video data signal. Technical result is achieved due to providing the first scene image, which is associated with the first observation point, and the depth map, which is associated with the first image, metadata for usage when processing the depth map, or visualizing one or more views for additional observation points by means of the multi-view visualization device, and generating the video data signal. Video data signal comprises the video frames, which are divided into subimages comprising the sub-image, which is based on the first image, and the depth sub-image, which is based on the depth map, and metadata, which are encoded in the color component of the depth sub-image.
EFFECT: technical result consists in enabling the possibility of adding of additional formats that support the transmission of stereo images and associated depth information.
