SUBSTANCE: invention relates to storage and transportation of encoded video data. Disclosed is a method of processing a file including fisheye video data. When rendering fisheye video data, it may be desirable for a video decoder to determine whether the fisheye video data is monoscopic or stereoscopic, wherein the plurality of syntax elements include: a first syntax element which explicitly indicates whether the fisheye video data is monoscopic or stereoscopic, and one or more syntax elements which implicitly indicate whether the video data of the fisheye type is monoscopic or stereoscopic; determining, based on the first syntax element, whether the video data of the fisheye type is monoscopic or stereoscopic; and rendering, based on the determination, the fisheye video data as monoscopic or stereoscopic.
EFFECT: more efficient transmission and reception of digital video information.
