FIELD: astronautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of ensuring the long-term sustainability of space activities and can be used to protect a spacecraft (SC) from collision with space debris particles (SD). Device to protect the spacecraft from high-speed impact of space debris particles consists of a two-layer protective screen. Two-layer screen is made of aluminum plates with many cone-shaped elements on their surface. Tops of the cone-shaped elements are coated with a hard alloy. Cavities between the cones are filled with carbon-carbon material. Tops of the first and the second layer cones are shifted relative to each other.
EFFECT: increasing the effectiveness of protection, reducing the mass of the protection structure.
