SUBSTANCE: invention relates to selenophysics and is intended for probing the soil of the Moon, for information support for the safety of space activities, to the field of instrumentation for searching for deposits of mineral resources, sublunary water ice, for researching lunar regolith. In the claimed method of probing the lunar soil, it is proposed to use the auroral radio emission of the Earth (AREE), received at not less than one sounding complex above the surface and / or on the lunar surface. By changing the power spectra of the direct AREE and AREE reflected from the layers of lunar soil, with the help of adaptable models of dielectric permeability and cepstral analysis of Doppler delay of the received radiation, the structure of soils in the zone and / or along the route of sounding is calculated. Results of sounding are transmitted to information reception, retransmission and processing points. Geometry of the radio paths of the received AREE, heliogeophysical and selenophysical conditions are taken into account. Based on the results of sounding, an adaptive model of the lunar soil is formed in the zones and along the probing routes, zones of anomalies of the lunar soil are identified and mapped.

EFFECT: expansion of the functionality of passive radar with the help of AREE for determining the structure and properties of the lunar soil.
