FIELD: separation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of material separation, namely to methods for complex purifying the soils and sludges contaminated with mercury and can be used to separate metallic mercury, as well as amalgam and other mercury compounds. Method of purifying the soils and sludges from contamination with metallic mercury involves the separation of a fraction smaller than 10 mm, the formation of pulps on its basis, the separation of pulp into components, and the separation of metallic mercury. Pulp is divided into components in a jigging machine with a bed of steel pellets 1.8-2.2 mm in size, located above the lattice with a mesh size of 0.5-1.0 mm. Metal mercury is separated by settling the bottom drain of the jigging machine. Under the bed jigging machine with a frequency of 130-350 times/min, water is supplied at a speed of 15-20 m3/ m2⋅h.
EFFECT: technical result is the improvement of the purifying quality.
