FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a heterophasic copolymer of propylene and ethylene, a process for its preparation, and the use of this copolymer for the manufacture of articles, for example, a film. Heterophasic copolymer obtained using single site catalysis contains at least 40 wt. % of a propylene homopolymer matrix or a copolymer of propylene and ethylene containing up to 3 wt. % ethylene and at least 10 wt. % ethylene-propylene rubber dispersed in the matrix. Said heterophasic propylene copolymer has a melt flow rate MFR2 from 0.5 to 100 g / 10 min and xylene cold soluble content (XS) from 24 to 60 wt. %, wherein the ethylene content in the xylene cold soluble fraction of said heterophasic propylene-ethylene copolymer ranges from 18 to 70 wt. %. Intrinsic viscosity of the XS fraction of said heterophasic propylene copolymer is greater than the intrinsic viscosity of the matrix fraction of said copolymer.
EFFECT: heterophasic propylene copolymer of the invention has an excellent balance of properties in terms of toughness and impact strength at high flow.
