FIELD: electrical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical equipment. Varistor (1) is proposed, comprising breaker (A) configured to interrupt the current passing through varistor (1) in the event of a malfunction, breaker (A) has contact terminal (5) forming electrical contact with first terminal (2) of varistor (1), wherein the electrical contact is provided by thermally-softened holder (4), wherein breaker (A) further has liberator (6) preloaded by battery (7), which in the event of a malfunction, when softening thermally-softened holder (4), mechanically detaches contact terminal (5) from first output (2) of varistor (1), wherein discharger (6) is resistive to limit the current through varistor (1) and to avoid the formation of an electric arc.
EFFECT: varistor with a breaker is proposed.
