SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the textile industry and can be used in cleaning machines for loosening and cleaning fibrous material, preferably raw cotton. Grate fender of the fibrous material cleaner contains polygonal grates with a flat working face rigidly fixed in arched laths under the rotating saw cylinder. According to the invention, the number of faces in the course of dragging the fibrous material of each successive grate is one greater than that of the previous one, in order to maintain the clearance between the saw barrel and the grate, the axes of the polygonal grates are located at a constant distance from the axis of the saw cylinder.
EFFECT: technical solution to this problem is to increase the efficiency of cleaning raw cotton without damage to the seeds.
